The BMB schedule has its own page,
Indiana has felt the total eclipse of the Moon. The Blue Moon Boys eclipsed all the other bands to win the 1997 Best Local Live Band in WhatzUp? magazine, the totally happening entertainment weekly. nic198

The Blue Moon Boys opened the House of Jazz & Blues Wednesday night roots music series, but proved so popular that Swing night has been moved to Pierre’s in the Marketplace of Canterbury. Here are some legendary pictures of the Blue Moon Boys at the House of Jazz & Blues, at Legends Sports Bar and at other venues.

Our Favorites, The Blue Moon Boys

The unique Blue Moon Boys band was voted best local band in 1997, in WhatzUp. (That’s northeastern Indiana’s absolutely essential guide to entertainment.) They are not to be missed. I’ve been writing about them since November of 1996; it’s great how famous they’ve become.

Kenny Taylor has blown the dust off his old guitar and is doing a tuesday night acoustic show at the Original Munchie Emporium corner of Broadway & Taylor downtown Ft Wayne. 8pm to 10:30…

Kenny Taylor provides crispy-friend twangy lead guitar.. skull-bending fretwork…Lots of great material aboard… there’s plenty of passion, panache, and plain old greaser attitude aboard as well.” – Cub Koda, All-Music Guide (See the Complete Review)

“The Blue Moon Boys turn it up a notch or two musically, and-well, there’s no question who’s center stage. If these guys don’t end up starring as “the rockabilly band” in a major motion picture sometime soon, I’ll be entirely shocked” – Jim Hanas, Memphis Flyer, Memphis

“They are truly living that twisted American Dream – the wholesome Midwest and Christmas, Tattoos, booze, and S&M…Rafter-climbin’, bottle-breakin’ rock & roll…” – Justin Hopper, City Paper, Pittsburgh

“Essentially an ace rockabilly crew…their music swings harder than most of the new Swing bands crowding the circuit. And live, the group’s tight boogie provides a hep backdrop for singer Nic Roulette’s untouchable showmanship and dancing ability…a rollicking backbeat that would make Elvis proud” – Mike Breen, City Beat, Cincinnati

“The Blue Moon Boys should be commended for having lots of rockaswingapunkabilly fun with the new Rock and Roll…sounding a bit like some lost Buddy Holly Holiday record…injecting its own goofball attitude along with some remarkably tasteful and traditional musicianship.” – The Onion, Chicago/Milwaukee

“Full of swingabilly tunes ranging from catchy originals to the semi-traditional, but the Blue Moon Boys strong point may lie in their saucy spoken word.” – City Pages, Minneapolis/St. Paul

Roanoke Times Top 10 Albums of 1999
The Blue Moon Boys’ “Live in New York” was the No. 1 pick by guest picker Hunter Johnson, Hunter’s comments: “The Blue Moon Boys are a quartet from Fort Wayne, Ind., playing authentic rockabilly. You think it’s 1955 when you see these guys or hear them. They’re just crazy.”

“They rocked the joint! We want ‘em back ASAP! Talk about energy! Every girl in here went wild over the guys. When can we have them back?…If these guys EVER need a reference, you can give my name and number out!” – Shannon, Rock ‘N’ Bowl, New Orleans
